As a teacher, I understand the importance of being a lifelong learner. I love to hear from my students, and I always ensure that they understand that their ideas are valued. They push me to be a better person, and to try to always stay relevant. In order to lead by example, I am pursuing a Business Certificate at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies. It has complimented my pageant experience, and has enabled me to grow my initiative, The Givers Movement.

I started The Givers Movement to connect people who were looking to give back to the community with organizations that best suit the way in which they were looking to give. My initiative has since grown and evolved into speaking at conferences, schools, camps, and businesses. I also visit schools and organizations to host workshops and give presentations on how to fruitfully engage with the community. I absolutely love speaking with people from all walks of life, and sharing my story.

I remember the first time I spoke to an entire school assembly about my Humanitarian and Media Tour with Operation Smile in Nicaragua. Having had the first-hand experience at the hospital during the national brigade, and visiting post-operative patients at the Operation Smile Centre, I was able to truly engage the audience. I partnered with the school, as they selected Operation Smile as their charity of choice for that school year. It was incredible to see my involvement fundraising for a charity, hosting events, and speaking come full circle and to watch an entire school community come together in support of a cause.
