Photoshoots and Video shoots complete!

What an incredible day…

It started with shooting with the extremely talented photographer Erwin Loewen, it was such an amazing experience being able to work with such a creative and inspirational photographer. All of us delegates are very lucky ladies!

Next, was our Beauty With A Purpose Video shoots with Genesis Multimedia!

This is where my nerves started to kick in… with all the bright lights and Miss Canada official backdrop it all began to feel so real. I really had to keep calm and remind myself of why I am competing for Miss Canada.

I am competing because this is a whole new experience where I can challenge myself, grow and continue to push myself outside of my comfort zone. I grew up figure skating and dancing my whole life, but even being on stage infront of hundreds of people I still struggled with confidence. I just want to take this experience in for everything that it is and inspire others to do the same. I’ve gotten to know so many of the lovely ladies here and these are women that will continue to support me and push me to be my very best.

One of the contestants and a good friend of mine, Mikaila Emrich, said to me today that we are like a mountain and all the clouds that pass by are like experiences and we shouldn’t try to grasp them, over analyze them, or be anxious about them. We are meant to enjoy them, admire their beauty and take them in for everything they have to offer.

This conversation put me at ease and made me realize that there is no need to over stress and worry, but instead live in the moment and enjoy it as the cloud passes by. Thank you Mikaila for being such an inspiring person and a shoulder to lean on.

This is what Miss Canada is all about, empowering other woman and helping each other succeed.

“We should be lifting each other up and cheering each other on, not trying to outshine one another. The sky would be awfully dark with just one star.”
