Hey Again!

So my first blog post was merely an introduction to who I am and what a strive for in life, but it definitely wasn’t the last post. Talking about myself and the things I do is something I am not used to, but hey there is a first time for everything and hopefully I am doing okay so far.

First year was tough compared to high school and the jump with the work load and focus is incomparable between the two. Sleep is so important, but when you are in school many know it is hard to sustain a good sleeping schedule and get enough rest. You put your body through so much stress it comes to the point where you need a break in order to function later. That is why having a four month summer for the first time is something I am definitely taking advantage of this year… I need that break! Even if you are still in school throughout the entire year, make that time to breath.

During this summer, from having two-part time jobs, where I am on my feet all day, to taking music lessons twice a week, to working on personal plans, and getting ready for the Miss World Canada nationals competition, I always try and find some time to relax whether that is by myself, or with family, and friends. The older you get the busier life becomes and the more responsibilities and duties you have to fulfill, but that should not be an excuse for not finding the time to take a breath. The point of this post is to remind those who are reading to pause and take a step back and relax. Everyone needs some peace and quiet or some time away from work, so they can be fully productive and happy. It is hard juggling a lot, but you want to be sure you are enjoying life first and for most. If things go south, or not the way you planned, don’t stress more than you need to because in the end you can’t change the past, so all you have left to do is learn from it and move forward. And I know that is something you all have heard countless times, but there is no simpler way to say it.

“Life is all about balance. You don’t always need to be getting stuff done. Sometimes it’s perfectly okay, and absolutely necessary, to shut down, kick back, and do nothing.” – Lori Deschene

Just a daily reminder to strive big, relax, and be happy – your physical, emotional, and mental health is very important!

Adios for now,

Christina
