Hello! My name is Danielle from Dufferin County in Ontario! I am currently Miss Dufferin County 2019 and I am a Miss World Canada 2019 Delegate competing in July to become the next Miss World Canada!
A little bit about me… I am 23 years old, and I graduated from Centre Dufferin District High School in Shelburne with multiple honours, and high academic achievement awards. I spent my high school career focusing on my goal to become a lawyer. Little did I know, this would change very quick and this is where I get my life moral & values from of not letting my circumstances stop me. Towards the end of high school, I got into a relationship with someone. Long story short, with the circumstances thrown at me, I didn’t go to law school, and I put my plans on hold for my guy. After a little, I realized I had to take care of us financially so I became a Mary Kay Independent Consultant. I quickly became one of the youngest sales directors in Canada and learned lots of valuable skills in business. Moving forward, the relationship went south, and I was left in a very poor situation & a lot of debt. I quickly went into survival mode & started cleaning residential houses to pay off my debt. Within a few short months, I had paid off all my debt, and my little cleaning service turned into a raging business. I got passionate about it, and loved waking up everyday to run my business. I became the founder & president of Domestic Divas Cleaning Co. & we became licensed in residential, commercial, and new development cleaning.
Fast track to our fourth year of business in 2019. We have grown immensely and quickly, and we also have an amazing tribe of “Divas” among us. I love working with the women I do, and working with all of our clients every day. My journey of this has proven to me that I can overcome anything & become anything I want to be, while not letting my circumstances hold me back. I am a very busy business woman and entrepreneur.
In the midst of all of this I also learned my passion for community involvement & mentorship. I am looked up by my community for being a mentor to the next generation of young leaders by providing workshops and sessions about overcoming circumstances and becoming who you want to be. I do a lot of charity work in my community & use my company to do even more. I also enjoy playing tennis, and doing yoga & pilates.
When the opportunity for Miss World Canada came to me (I always say yes to new opportunities), I didn’t have a whole lot of time to prepare but I thought I would have fun with it & see where it goes. I was interested because of the pageants morals & initiatives which reflected well with my own for my community. I ended up being crowned Miss Dufferin County & now a delegate for Miss World Canada. I am so excited for the next couple of months before Nationals, potentially becoming Miss World Canada, and seeing what else I can do for my community with my title as Miss Dufferin County & Miss World Canada!
Now that you know a little about me, stay tuned for more posts during the next few months on my way to Nationals! XO
