A few weeks back I hosted a movie marathon with the Ottawa Family Cinema in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation.
The Ottawa Family Cinema is a group of volunteers that every Friday night and Saturday afternoon turn a local high school in to a movie theatre with the proceeds from the show going back in to the community. I have been going to this cinema since I was a child and have many fond memories going to see movies with my friends and family. I truly believe that movies bring us together; they ignite imagination and fun, just like when a child is being granted a wish.
The cinema had a showing of Shazam on Friday night and Disney’s Dumbo on Saturday afternoon. The event was a huge success and, as a community, we raised a sizeable donation for the Children’s Wish Foundation.
