Hello everyone!

The Unionville Milliken Soccer Club (UMSC), where I used to play soccer and currently work, hosted the UMSC Men’s league 1 Ontario Home Opener against Toronto FC III at Bill Crothers High School. Before the game, I had the pleasure of meeting the mayor of Markham Frank Scarpitti, the deputy mayor Jack Heath and Markham councilors like Alan Ho and Aaron Madar. The respectable mayor Frank Scarpitti recognized me from a previous article published about myself and the work I am doing to bring awareness to suicide prevention in memory of my cousin Brendan. Having my story published in the Markham Economist paper, has given me the opportunity to broadcast my story in my community and reach a larger group of people. After my suicide prevention awareness story was published in the paper, I gained recognition from the mayor, other councilors in Markham, and the Youth & Parents Association of Markham, who then appointed me as the Ambassador of Mental Health. Thank you to the Markham Economist for helping me reach out to the public and allowing me to network with people and groups with similar goals as mine. It is an honour to be recognized by the city of Markham and to have their support in my pursuit to bring awareness to suicide prevention. <3

Love,
