My name is Beatrice and I’m honored to represent Toronto in the upcoming Miss World Canada pageant!

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and moved to Toronto with my family at the age of 12.
I had a tough time fitting in initially, so I started out having a lot of insecurities. With the many mistakes and struggles along the way, I’ve learned to love my flaws and got myself into the world of modeling and pageantry starting at the age of 21.
I started with modeling and acting, appearing in shows such as Toronto Fashion Week and I’ve also appeared in music videos with artists like Terri Clark, Fall Out Boy and Mikey Bustos. Modeling gave me the confidence I didn’t know I had.
During my modeling days, I joined a pageant training group based here in Toronto called IPEN (International Professional Entertainment Network) led by Edgar Sulit. This group gave me the opportunity to compete in local pageants and also international pageants such as Mutya Ng Pilipinas (Muse of the Philippines) in 2014 in Manila, Philippines and Miss Pacific World in 2017 in Ilo,Peru. I’m a dual citizen of both Philippines and Canada, and so I am able to embrace my multiculturalism and represent both countries in different pageants.
I was also able to have great modeling opportunities during my time with IPEN, especially within the Filipino community. One of them was being able to meet and model for 3 amazing Filipino designers: Renee Salud, Francis Libiran, and Kenneth Barlis.
During my free time, I enjoy being active with boxing and dancing.
In high school, I was co-president of a Latin Dance Club where I taught Salsa, Meringue and Bachata. It’s a form of art that I still really enjoy.
I started going to boxing classes about 3 years ago and I find it so exhilarating. I’m no pro but I still find time to go to classes to improve and be active.
Currently, I’m in the process of completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Ryerson University. I have also graduated from Seneca College for Biotechnology. Even though I’m already 25 years old, I still enjoy learning and being able to invest in myself to feel successful. While growing up my dad would always tell me to find a career that I both enjoy and also be able to help people.
I am so thankful to everyone who have made this journey so enjoyable for me. Being Miss Toronto World 2018 has been so much fun and I’m glad that I’m able to represent so many people in this beautiful city.
