Hi, my name is Alyssa Boston I was born in Sudbury Ontario, raised in Windsor Ontario and currently living in Toronto Ontario. I am a small town girl with big dreams, I knew I had to move to the largest city in Canada. My family; consisting of my younger brother, older sister and my amazing parents have always supported me in everything I do. They are the most amazing people and I am so lucky to have them by my side.
Background about me!
Sports have always been an important part of my life ever since I can remember. I began playing soccer along side my sister and cousin at the age of five and played until I was seventeen years old. But my favourite sport of all time to watch was hockey. When my brother learned how to skate my parents signed him up to play. Driving to the rink every weekend to watch his games really sparked an interest for me. I begged my parents to let me play the next season. I started as a forward that year and did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I decided to switch positions next season and play goalie. I played goalie for 6 years and loved every minute of it. Every team I played on was with my best friend and what I time we had. Travelling around Ontario, even to Michigan, USA to play in tournaments was an amazing experience. After I hung up the skates I started to peruse dance and cheerleading, kind of the opposite of hockey… I was a dancer for the Windsor Express Basketball team for two years and competed competitively in cheer for a year. I have always loved being active, playing on a team and most of all; competing.
In high school my favourite courses were anything to do with math or business. I have always known what I wanted to do for my post-secondary education. The biggest decision was to stay in Windsor and go to the university there or to go to another city. I had my heart set on Brock University in St. Catharines, until one day I changed my mind and accepted the offer to Windsor. Where I did four years at the Odette School of Business, taking courses from communications and sports marketing to algebra and math for business. I graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a concentration in marketing. I believe that school is very important to invest your time in and learn as many new things as you can. It was such an accomplishment to walk across the stage and accept my diploma.
